Carol is here

My e-mail friend and "honorary aunt" Carol from America has come to visit me in Germany! We met each other in 2011 via this very blog that you are reading now.

One of the must-sees for every tourist to Bavaria from overseas... the famous castle. To avoid the long queue though, we joined a tour in Hohenschwangau and not Neuschwanstein Castle. Hohenschwangau is nicer inside anyway, and Neuschwanstein nicer from outside. But it is forbidden to take photos inside, so I can't show you.

Carol has ancestors from Germany: her great-grandfather was the sculptor Joseph Echteler and his ancestors were millers in the Allgäu. So we visited two mills, here this one in Ausnang near Leutkirch im Allgäu.
