Lilienstein

The next day, we made another hiking tour. It took us to Lilienstein, a table mountain that lies in one of the Elbe river's loops.
Once again we were very lucky with the weather, and as we came in and out of forests on our way the colours were just amazing.

We climbed Lilienstein from the north route. The top of the small mountain is 415 m above sea level and about 300 m above the Elbe river.

On top!

If this photo reminds you of something you've seen, it is intended. Wanderer above the Sea of Fog by the German Romantic artist Caspar David Friedrich was inspired by this very landscape around here, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
