Vietnamese music

Vietnamese culture is strongly influenced by the Chinese. Nevertheless they do have their own specialities. For example, in Hoi An we saw a performance of classical Vietnamese music.

The instruments are, left to right: Đàn nguyệt (sometimes called "moon lute"), Đàn nhị (two-string violin, plays the main melody), Đàn bầu (a monochord played in flageolet technique, fascinating!), Sáo (bamboo flute), drums. There was also a Đàn tranh (zither), but it's not visible in the picture and video.
