St. Vitus Cathedral, Prague

St. Vitus Cathedral (Veitsdom) is to Prague what Notre Dame is to Paris. It was built for the most part by the Suevian Peter Parler (c. 1300-1399), one of the finest architects of the Middle Ages.

The cathedral is gothic as can be, with gargoyles and all.

The interior: a forest of columns bathed in magic light.
