Discovering Konrad Maurer in a book

At my last guesthouse I browsed the bookshelf for anything that might be interesting and my eyes fell on an almanach of Iceland, in five volumes. I picked out the volume "1801-1860", wondering if it would say anything about the year 1858.


And there he was. Konrad Maurer on page 242, with a photo.

The book is from 1955.
