Hitchhikers

My rental car is the smallest category "A", but it had room for two hitchhikers and thus provided them with a 250 km lift and me with very nice company for this day.

Ramses and Sien, aged 24, are from Belgium. We drove southward and gradually out of the rain, through Iceland's biggest forest area and through mystic canyon landscapes that look like the Dinosaur age. You expect to see Tyrannosaurus Rex coming round the corner anytime!

There are lots of young people travelling Iceland that way. And I admire their toughness when they sleep in tents in this country with the unpredictable and often rainy and cold weather.

So far on this trip I have met travellers from Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, USA, and of course lots of Icelanders travelling in their own country.
