Blumenpracht

Es blüht im Garten. Meine besondere Freude: die Seerose, die ich dieses Frühjahr in meinen Mini-Teich gepflanzt habe, ist gekommen.

Eine ordinäre Küchenzwiebel, die ich witzeshalber in Erde gesetzt habe, als sie anfing auszutreiben, hat fünf große Blütendolden gebildet, die zum Renner unter Bienen und anderen Insekten geworden sind.

Und mit zu den schönsten Blumen überhaupt zählen, finde ich, die Lilien.

Time travel in Kaltenberg

Last weekend I was at Kaltenberger Ritterturnier, the World’s largest Medieval Tournament. It takes place every summer on three weekends in July and is only half an hour's drive from my home. 

Sure enough, I went in historic garment and with my instruments to sing some songs of olden times. The gugel, tunic and trousers are all homemade by myself, my handicraft work of this spring.  The shoes are bought, but a real winner. :)

My friend Markus invited me to Kaltenberg this year. He has a booth in the castle courtyard selling wind instruments.

And I also met one of my favourite medieval bands, Triskilian.

Note: I'll be in Kaltenberg again on the coming up weekend. Friday 27 July 2012 will be the  Gauklernacht (Entertainer's Night) which is a must-see.

Japanfest

Letztes Wochenende in München, beim (leider sehr verregneten) Japanfest im Englischen Garten...

Lucy und die Mäuse

Lucy -- das süße Katzenbaby, die Unschuld in Person?

Und doch ist sie, ich muss es leider sagen, im Juli diesen Jahres vom einfachen Pinnwandräuber zum mehrfachen Mäusemörder mutiert.

Und deshalb hat sie jetzt ein Glöckchen um.

Black Forest

Last weekend I was in the Black Forest, im Schwarzwald, to celebrate my friend Gregor's 40th birthday.

We were a group of about 20-30 people and stayed for two nights in a Selbstversorger-Wanderhütte (I have no idea how to translate this) in the picturesque village Neuenweg in Naturpark Südschwarzwald. (South Black Forest Nature Park).


On Saturday, after a hearty breakfast, we put on our hiking boots, unsere Wanderschuhe, and made our way though meadows and forests, durch Wiesen und Wälder, to a beautiful pond, Nonnenmattweiher. 

The weather was ideal for hiking, mostly cloudy and not too warm.
